What GCash says about gambling transactions
Gambling merchants face no blanket ban under GCash’s terms and conditions; only a general clause against pyramid and Ponzi schemes comes close. Any restrictions in force stem from the regulator. Every BSP-supervised institution had 48 hours to strip out in-app gambling and gaming links and redirects once BSP Memorandum M-2025-029 was dated 14 August 2025; GCash responded by pulling its GLife Games top-up and withdrawal feature, effective 16 August 2025.
Separately, GCash reports a zero-tolerance stance on illegal gambling operators, and says it has blocked about 3,200 merchants for misusing its QR system to divert users to illegal gambling and scam sites. Merchants linked to illegal gambling and in-app gaming top-ups are both held back as a result. Nowhere does this state that GCash can be used to fund a licensed casino’s cashier, nor does it state the opposite.
